To Be Right Or Kind?

To be right or kind?

Whichever brings peace of mind

For it is you and you alone

Who at the end of the day

And at the end of this life

Sleeps (and wakes) with a conscience

What's said and done cannot be retracted

But through introspection, meditation and compassion

Can be accepted, released and transmuted

And so another day

Brings another opportunity

To be right or kind?

Whichever brings peace of mind

Because for most of us

That is where we live

Very few are fully present

And in remembering that

It may help us to make choices

Moment to moment

That give us peace of mind

For a clear conscience

Makes for good sleep

And a good sleep

Gives us a clear mind

And a clear mind

Helps us makes choices.....
